Rob’s Medical Fund: 40 Years of Love & Music

Story

Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My name is Rob Hacker, and I’ve spent over 40+ years doing what I love in the heart of Austin, Texas — making music, sharing stages, and bringing guitars back to life. Whether it was late nights playing gigs, early mornings fixing fretboards, or helping young musicians find their sound, I’ve poured my heart into this beautiful musical community that’s given me so much.

Now, I find myself facing a challenge I didn’t expect — one I can’t tune up, repair, or fix with a new set of strings.

I’m currently dealing with some medical issues that will require surgery and a recovery period of 3 to 6 weeks. During that time, I won’t be able to work — no guitar repairs, no gigs, no income. While I’m focusing on healing, the bills don’t take a break. Between medical costs and the loss of steady income, I’m looking at a tough stretch ahead.
That’s why I’m reaching out and humbly asking for your support.
I’m hoping to raise at least about 3,500 to help cover medical expenses and day-to-day needs while I recover. Every little bit helps more than you know, and even if you can’t donate, sharing this with others would mean the world to me.

It’s not easy asking for help, especially after spending a lifetime trying to be the one helping others. But the beauty of a community like ours is that when someone hits a rough patch, we lift each other up.
